No. If Stripe keys are missing, signup still provisions an API key and you can continue with free-mode access until billing is enabled.

How do launch discounts apply?

Checkout uses backend-configured Stripe coupons. If coupons are unavailable, checkout falls back to standard Stripe pricing.

Can I upgrade later from the dashboard?

Yes. Free users can upgrade any time via this page; the dashboard keeps the Upgrade link visible for free-tier sessions.
